Ghoomketu Movie Cast: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anurag Kashyap, Raghubir Yadav, Ila Arun, Swanand Kirkire, Brijendra Kala, Ragini Khanna
Ghoomketu Director: Pushpendra Nath Mishra
Ghoomketu Rating: 1.5 stars
Ghoomketu, right from start to end, lacks in grabbing eyeballs and interest of the audiences. At the time when the trailer was launched in the YouTube channel of ZEE5, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the lead. There were numerous comments with high anticipation that the movie would be worth a watch.
Perhaps it would have been the first time-where the audiences would have got to see, two of their favorite Bollywood Celeb together on screen, which is Nawazuddin Siddiqui alongside Anurag Kashyap as leads.
As all good things fall apart, so did the movie do with the high expectation of the internet audiences in the first 30 minutes of the film. I was trying to figure out where is the plot of the movie trying to reach and what precisely the makers were thinking at the time of making the movie.
The movie holds no secure connection between the characters of the film. At times, there were unnecessary scenes in the film, which ideally was trying to make the public laugh, but it was like you are being forced to laugh without any reason.
Story of Ghoomketu
The story of Ghoomketu doesn’t bring in any extra joy for the audiences to consider watching. The story lacks in attention, maybe the writer’s have done their bit, but the movie was not presented very well.
A man living in the village secretly vanishes as he was not happy with his married life. Then comes to Mumbai to live his dream of becoming a writer in movies. Raghubir Yadav in as the father of Ghoomketu is brilliant with his role. I think he was the only reason why I was sticking to continue watching the film.
He puts in all his sources to bring Ghoomketu back to the village. Ghoomketu family has a political background, and the man responsible for getting Ghoomketu back to the town is the very talented Anurag Kashyap in as a corrupt officer.
Ghoomketu working as a writer in the movie, write’s most of the stories relating to his life. Towards the latter half, which is towards the climax, only the last 10 minutes of the film will justify your time. Apart from that, the decision of bringing the movie in OTT was a wise decision from the makers, or else I can imagine what could have happened if the film would have hit the theaters.
All actors without a doubt have delivered their best. No doubt, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a brilliant actor and never disappointments; however, his last few movies seem not to grab many eyeballs. Maybe, we all expect him to return to his actual avatar of Faisal from Gang Of Wasseypur, rather than experiment with different roles. Experimenting is enjoyable as an actor, but it doesn’t take time for brilliant actors to lose their charm and get unrecognized.
The director of Ghoomketu undoubtedly carries the high potential to grab public attention. Maybe with Ghoomketu, it came as a failure, but the last work on Taj Mahal 1989, a romantic web series, was awe-inspiring.
My final word for Ghoomketu
If you like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, then only you would consider watching this movie; however, I am sure that after the first 30 minutes of the movie, one won’t feel like continuing watching the film anymore.
All movie freaks have different ways of examining a movie; therefore, the opinion might differ, which is understandable.
